The Desert Fisherman

Been working on this for maybe 4-5 days (lost count) but mostly because of interest really, probably spent less than 24hours on it maybe, but like i said, kinda lost track of time so maybe more.

This is a Red Backed Kingfisher, one of the few kingfishers that can be found many kilometres from any watering hole, insted of having the abundance of water they receive their water from their food.

When drawing this, it was originally a kookaburra, but i didnt want to stuff with the breast pattern (blue winged kookaburra, not laughing kookaburra) so i chose a differnt bird, but i couldnt erase the head cos i liked it. luckily i found a photo of a kingfisher that had a body that fitted perfectly to my head so i was in luck. but as some may tell, i didnt realise the size proportions of the bird, making the perch look like a branch not a twig (kingfishers are really small) so i attempted to do large leaves to show he is small, but damn, like anyone is going to care, not me anymore tho it still bugs me.
