Description
Female Galah on a lamp-post in Casuarina Coastal Reserve.
sorry bout the terrible photograpth of this, its 4am and the lights are bad....
This is a painting beleive it or not, not pencil
i absolutly hate that background and that is where all the time i spent on this went on, several hours just to get the right shade and to make it all the same without yucky bits (well its not perfect still...)
but apart from that im very proud of the lamp-post, done in watercolours and pencil ive found is a very good mix, doing the basic shape in pencil, all the lines and then doing washes of watercolour over the top brought out magnificent colour! The galah is mostly watercolour too with the white head all acrylic, and some pencil on the chest, but its still a painting!
